This circular route explores the area about the Río Guadalfeo near the village of Vélez de Benaudalla. The route is 14km long, has an elevation of 450m and takes about 5 hours to complete.
This route starts in the village of Vélez de Benaudall. We walk through the centre of the village, passing the Bar Los Ángeles (which is a good bar for a drink later) and the Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Rosario. We make our way down and cross the old Granada-Motril road and the bridge over the Río Guadalfeo. We follow the path up round to the water tank and then on to another bridge and the Cámara de Agua. Eventually we catch sight of the impressive Presa de Rules. We make our way back down following the Río Guadalfeo, through the Área Recreativa and past the Puente Colgante. We then cross over the main road again and make our way back through the village to the starting point.
