This is a lovely route up the hills to the west of Almuñecar. You get some great views as you climb and you see a lot of new hidden valleys. Elevation Gain: 279 Distance: 7.7 Km.
This is a very good walk in the hills behind Almuñecar. After getting out of town the start of the walk goes fairly steeply and constantly uphill giving a good cardiac workout. On either side of the route there are a lot of fruit trees predominantly avocados but there is also papayas, oranges etc. The walk finishes with a stretch along the Rio Seco and there is a good view of the old aqueduct. We had some beers and very good tapas in Los Cactus after the walk. You can park right next to the meeting point as long as it is not a Friday or a Sunday.
