This clockwise route is the longest of the walks above the village Acebuchal. It climbs up to below the Venta de Panaderos and has fantastic views. This walk is approximately 19km long and takes approximately 6 hours to complete.
This route loops NE around Acebuchal, below the Venta de Panaderos ruin and towards the headwaters of the Rio Higuerón. It has great views! The trail starts from La Capilla de San Antonio church and immediately climbs very steeply (+/- 400m for 1.5km) up to the El Pinar ridge. This is a tough uphill climb which may require some scrambling! This path is well defined but it is steep! We’ll then follow the path along, towards Cerro Verde taking in some fantastic views. We’ll follow a good 4×4 track W, towards Collado Blanquilla and Venta de Camila and Los Caracolillos completing the route along the (hopefully dry) Arroyo del Acebuchal. We will be crossing the Rio Higuerón at some point and may get our feet a bit wet.
