Quéntar: Circular Route - Cerro de la Ventanilla

Walk with Granada Rutas - Senderismo en Granada

Spanish

This circular route explores the hills above the village of Quéntar. The route is 14.3 km long, has an elevation of 488 m and takes about 5 hours to complete.

LONG DESCRIPTION

The route starts in the village of Quéntar on the old Granada road. Walking anticlockwise, we walk up to the Cerro de la Ventanilla, around El Majano and then down to cross the Barranco del Prado. From here, we continue down to the Fuente del Mochuelo before making our way back to the starting point. Throughout the route, there are some spectacular views of the Quéntar dam, the surrounding area and the Sierra de Huétor. Note: A short while after you pass the large rural hotel it says that the road is cut off and it is private property.  You can just walk past the big black gate and pass through with no problem.

Note: The GPX time is the time on the GPX file. The GPX might not be accurate if during the walk the walkers went for a meal for example. Naismith is a formula based on distance and elevation.
