Huétor Santillán: Nacimiento del Río Darro - Barranco de las Tejoneras - Casa Forestal Los Bolones

Walk with Granada Rutas - Senderismo en Granada

Spanish

This circular walk starts near Huétor Santillán. It is 10.82km long, has an elevation of 294m and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.

LONG DESCRIPTION

The walk starts on the other side of the A92 motorway from Huétor Santillán. We walk up following the River Darro to its source after which it becomes the Barranco del Polvorite. We continue on up through the Arroyo de las Tejoneras to the Mirador del Darro. We then leave the arroyo and follow the track from the Fuente de la Teja on to the Casa Forestal de los Bolones. From we here, we continue following the track down and make our way back to the starting point.  The Casa Forestal de los Bolones is a good place to have lunch you can sit on the wall.

This is a very easy walk and there are buses which go to Huetor Santillan from the centre of Granada, just google it.

We were advised by someone who lives in Huetor Santillan that it would be difficult to get to the start of the walk and it would be better to meet in the garage and then drive on to the starting point.  The meeting point actually at the start is here If you go with a group who can use google maps OK you just just go straight to the start.

Note: The GPX time is the time on the GPX file. The GPX might not be accurate if during the walk the walkers went for a meal for example. Naismith is a formula based on distance and elevation.
