This route explores the area of Dúrcal with its castle and thermal baths. The walk is 14.5km long and takes about 4.5 hours to complete.
We park on the outskirts of Dúrcal and walk through the town. We walk under the motorway and follow the track to the hot springs at the Urquizar baths where the water is about 24ºC. There is a beautiful, 15m-high waterfall nearby and it is possible to bathe here if anyone feels brave enough. We then return to the baths and follow the path back to the Dúrcal river, walking under the motorway. We follow the River Dúrcal and past a Roman bridge and the famous tin bridge made by one of Eiffel's apprentices. From here, we make our way back to the cars for a well-earned beer and tapas.
