This circular walk starts at the Ermita Nueva in Dílar and goes up to the Silleta del Padul and the Piedra Ventana. It is 14.2km long, has an elevation of 770m and takes about 5 hours to complete.
The route starts at the Ermita Nueva in Dílar and climbs through almond and olive groves to almost 1500 metres to the Silleta del Padul. When we get to the water tank, we follow the track up through the pine forest to Collado de los Cabreros with the ruins of an old cortijo and on up to the Cerro de la Silleta. There is a steep hill trek up to the Silleta del Padul but it is worth it for the fantastic views of Veleta (3396m), Tajos de la Virgen (3342m) and Cartujo (3150m). We then take a short detour to visit the Piedra Ventana. From here, we continue following the Sendero de los Gudaris eastwards through the Sierra del Manar on to the Puerto de Mala Mujer with more impressive views of the Corazón de la Sandía (1872m), Trevenque (2083m), los Alayos de Dílar, the Vega of Granada and the Valle de Lecrín. A wider forest rack takes us on to the Ermita Vieja and from here we make our way back to the start through the Barranco de la Ermita.
