Capileira (Alpujarras): Cascada del Barranco de la Chorrera - Tajo Cortés - Acequia de las Ventajas

Walk with Granada Rutas - Senderismo en Granada

Spanish

A fairly easy walk with water features not far from Capileira. 11.73 km with 480 elevation gain. The altitude is between 1,480m and 1790m

LONG DESCRIPTION

This walk is part of our attempt to continue walking even as the summer temperatures increase.  The walk starts of with a steep climbs which is good because we get the climbing out of the way before the heat starts.  The highlights of this walk are the two waterfalls.  When the weather is hot it is possible to actually get into the waterfalls. The force of the water is very strong and the water is cold but it is definitely worth it.  This idea for this walk was taken from a walk by Bienve Delgado who has many good walks on wikiloc.

Calorie Note: The calories info is grouped into 3 figures according to body weight including luggage. This is just a very rough guide. Our figures here are lower than a fitbit. You can see how much 5% beer you will need to drink to replace the calories you have burned.

Note: The GPX time is the time on the GPX file. The GPX might not be accurate if during the walk the walkers went for a meal for example. Naismith is a formula based on distance and elevation.
