
This circular river route starts in Capileira. The route is 9.66 km long, has an elevation of 407 m and takes about 4 hours to complete.
On this circular route, we walk up from Capileira through the Barrando de Poqueira to the abandoned village of La Cebadilla, once home to hydroelectric workers. We then walk back down on the opposite slope. Highlights of the route include traditional Alpujarra houses, Moorish irrigation terraces, and refreshing dips in the Río Poqueira, with stunning scenery throughout.
