This is the most popular hike for visitors to Granada. It is a fairly easy 8km with an uphill of 342m. It includes a riverside walk in a gorge, a rope bridge and some farmland.
This is one of the most popular hikes in Granada and for many people it is the "must do" hike for Granada. For this reason it can get crowded especially in the river gorge part. If you have the choice do this walk on a weekday which is not a holiday. There is a rope bridge which is perfectly safe but could be a problem for people with extreme vertigo. It starts in Monachil which is pleasant village located about 14km from the centre of Granada. Our walk starts in the main free car park in Monachil. Our gpx track included here goes the opposite direction of most routes because I prefer to walk up the the high point and then walk down through the river gorge part. The Puntarron restaurant which you see near the start of the walk is a good one.
