Shuttle to Posiciones de Veleta. Sierra Nevada

If you go walking in the Sierra Nevada there is a shuttle service which takes you from the Albergue Universitaria next to the car park at Hoya de la Mora to Posiciones de Veleta.   It takes you from an elevation of 2545m  to 3100m and saves you an uphill walk of 555 metres.  This means that if you want to climb up to high places such as Veleta or Mulhacen it is much easier. 

Monday to Friday:  8.00, 9.30, 11.00, 12.30, 15.00, 16.30,18:00

Weekends:  8.00, 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, 12.30, 15.00, 16.30,18:00 

The times of pickup for the return journey are 30 minutes later than the times above. 

Prices:  

Return: 11 euros

One way: 6.60 euros

Children of less than 3: Free

Dogs: 2 euros 

Note: The dogs have to go in a crate at the back of the bus. 2 dogs with the same owner can share the crate but only 1 dog is allowed when the dogs do not know each other. 

There are special prices for children and over 65s.

There are 2 buses each can take a maximum of 8 people.

Note: The parking spaces will up very quickly at the weekend. Go midweek if you can.
