Almuñécar: Loma del Gato walk
Wednesday 11th of March 2026 11:00 AMThis is an easy walk into the hills behind Almuñécar and there are good views over the sea above Taramay. This walk is 13km long and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
LONG DESCRIPTION
This circular walk starts at Almuñécar sports stadium. We cross the Río Verde and then up and around the Cerro del Saucillo and back around the Loma del Gato. We then walk along part of the Río Verde before joining up with the Cañada Real de Málaga a Motril. BTW. Loma means "Broad topped hill" in Spanish. The best place to go for a beer afterwards is the Vista Verde.
